ABOUT IMMIGRANT REP, INC.®

Immigrant Rep, Inc.® is an immigration law firm that helps people all over the world with their U.S. immigration issues. The firm is owned by immigration attorney Josh Effron. Mr. Effron has over eleven years of experience in U.S. immigration law, is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew, and is a citizen of three countries (including the USA). He is also a frequent guest speaker on various immigration-related topics and has written articles about immigration law in legal journals.

Mr. Effron found his passion for immigration law when he lived outside of the U.S. as a teenager and young adult. While living in a foreign country in high school, he went to the U.S. Embassy and helped people sort out their visa issues, because his American passport gave him access to the Embassy that his neighbors did not have. This got him interested in immigration law and in helping people comply with the multitude of laws and regulations required to come to and/or stay in the U.S.

Mr. Effron later read about great historical figures such as Chiune "Sempo" Sugihara, the Japanese Consul in Lithuania who personally issued thousands of transit visas to Jews during the Second World War as a way to get them out of Nazi-occupied Europe, to safety in Japan. Sugihara did this despite what his superiors told him, because in his words, "I may have to disobey my Government, but if I do not, I will be disobeying God." Sugihara ended up losing his prestigious career and was dishonored in his home country (a very big deal in Japan). It is estimated that almost 80,000 European Jews and their descendants are alive today because of Sugihara's efforts.

Mr. Effron has been greatly inspired by people like Sugihara. This, combined with Mr. Effron's firm belief that a basic right of people is to live where they want (assuming of course that they do not pose a security threat), have made him passionate about giving each and every one of his clients the chance they deserve to start or continue their lives in the Land of Opportunity.
